A modern scripture study app with synchronized audio and verse highlighting.
Born from a personal need to find an app for studying scriptures with my children — one where we could read and listen to audio while the spoken verse automatically scrolls and highlights on screen. When nothing like it existed, I decided to build it myself. Beyond synchronized audio, ScriptureFlow includes structured reading plans, annotation tools, and cross-referencing capabilities, all designed for an intuitive reading experience. It is now part of my daily personal scripture study, and I am currently working toward approval to release it on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The Challenge
Existing scripture apps treat reading and listening as separate experiences. There was no tool that synchronized audio playback with on-screen verse highlighting and automatic scrolling — especially one designed for families studying together. Beyond that, traditional study tools are fragmented across multiple apps, making it difficult to maintain consistent study habits and connect insights across different passages.
The Solution
Built a full-stack scripture study platform with synchronized audio playback that automatically scrolls to and highlights the verse being spoken in real time. Added structured reading plans, real-time annotation and highlighting, cross-reference linking, and a personal study journal. Deployed on Vercel and Render with a Neon PostgreSQL backend, designed for both web and mobile.
